After the Jasmine revolution, the Egyptian revolution sent waves of upheaval across the Arab nations. Reason behind all these uprisings is social insecurity, nepotism, endless tyranny, poor governance, blah blah blah etc etc etc.,
Now thats nothing different from what we are facing in India, only difference being every five years there is a new lot coming to power and continuing the same agenda...
Thanks to the voting power unlike our Arabian counterparts atleast we could choose who should actually disrupt our social harmony... we call it "Democracy".

Finally, If we were to start a Jasmine revolution or Tahrir square revolution in India, that would fail miserably because..
  • Demographic divide would make it virtually impossible to decide on a issue to protest on.
Had there been a common unbiased issue to fight for then it would serve the purpose, but in India the divide is so deep that the common lot would fail to decide upon a factor to instigate protest.
  • Geographic divide would make it practically tough to decide on a place where the protesters must gather.
Now rewind back to our history & geography classes where we used our map extensively,
Start from the North---
New Delhi would be a perfect place for the protests, but gathering at the CWG stadia would be suicidal... in front of the parliament house much worse... Lal Quila, yes would help but only on Republic day or Independence day...

On our West---
Bombay... err.. sorry Mumbai, the maximum city is ideal for absolutely anything. But, the problem lies in deciding which Film star should be invited to flag off the protest, that would certainly bring mixed reactions resulting in failure.

On to the South---
Madras... Okay  Chennai, Climate is a big worry, dusty city, people would rather choose to spend their time in beach than protest or start it with a pooja of their favourite film stars...
Bangalore... Whatever... Bengaluru, Sorry only weekend protests, techies are busy & pray no new movie should be released for the weekend else there would be none to protest.
Hyderabad... People are busy with their own problem, let them decide on Telangana, Rayalseema or united Andhra then think about the nation as a whole.
Trivandrum... They rehearse every other day with hartals ranging from nothing to everything. There might be unprecedented bandh disrupting the protests.

On to the neglected East---
Where exactly should we protest, better stay indoors for the fear of being abducted by Maoists, ULFA, Naxals or many other insurgent groups... Don't tread too much in to the east, you might trespass Chinese claimed territory. Failure again.
  • Cultural divide is another issue where people would fight amongst themselves claiming they belong to a higher class, culture, linguistic sect.
  • Religious divide--- I better stop it here.
And if miraculously we succeed in toppling the system, the new guy elected would start doing the same. " It runs in our blood ".
Now thats why I said Jasmine revolution or Tahrir square revolution or even a claim for fundamental right would fail miserably in India....

Jai Hind...!!!
