Wake-up, lest we fall...!!!

Recently, I read an article on ibnlive/blogs by Vir Chakra awardee Wing Commander(Retd.) Abdul Nasir Hanfee on our country's defence preparedness.
After reading the article, I felt we won't have a Gen next to live, if we happened to go out on a full fledged war with one of our neighbours. We would be wiped right from our cradle to our grave.

How awful was the Blunder...???

After India's vote in the UNHRC resolution against Sri Lanka on war crimes, there was national wide furore amongst the journalist fraternity calling it an "Awful Blunder", "India has let down a friend", "Geo-political shift" and what not...
I personally thought for the first time this government has showed some spine. It was not a compromise on our non-alignment policy, it never was... I'm not trying to fathom if LTTE was a terrorist organisation or a liberation force, but it is just that we cannot see any race of ours suffering in any part of this world and this vote sent a strong message to the Lankans, infact to the world community as well.

Remembering 10yrs post barbarism...

There are instances when you feel its your duty to retort and rebuke, this is one of those to me. Being an avid reader, I pretty much make conclusions myself, which on the most part would be naive and belligerent. This post would certainly find its place amongst those.

In my previous posts, I have always said this country's secularism is held by a thin fragile thread. Godhra riots stands a testimony for that. It stands a testimony for the Barbarism this country's sons have bred. It stands a testimony on how instigation and repercussion could leave lasting scars. It stands a testimony on how media and cheap political stunts go hand in hand.

This post is not to boot-lick a majority or minority group. Infact in our country, every Tom, Dick and Harry has equal say, hence the majorities and minorities are just illusions of vote bank politics.
